About Speaker
Michelle Soltero (she/her) currently works at Grossmont College as full-time faculty in the Child Development, Education and Family Studies Department since 2019. Prior to coming to Grossmont College Michelle worked 20 years, as a Program Associate II for WestEd's Center for Child and Family Studies. Her work projects included the California Quality Rating Improvement System [QRIS] Project. In this technical assistance role included research, analysis and identifying innovative practices across the country, combing for resources that supports implementation and advance the development of California Quality Rating and Improvement System at the county level. She also has worked on other projects such as Early Childhood Effectiveness Exchange [E4]; State Capacity Building Center and The Program for Infant/Toddler Care, Partners for Quality during her tenure with the organization. She is still an Infant/Toddler Specialist for the project and serving programs. Michelle is a passionate advocate for the children, birth to 5 and their families. She is concentrated on effective ECE systems for infants and toddlers and preschoolers from direct services, family involvement, to workforce development issues and more. Michelle received a BS in Child Development from the State University of San Diego and an MA in Human Development from Pacific Oaks College.
